Dr Zahra Haider is a Consultant Dermatologist whose specialty covers all general medical dermatology conditions, including skin cancers.

Dr Haider is a UK-trained and qualified Dermatology consultant with over a decade of clinical experience. She has expertise across both the clinical and academic side of the specialty, with deep experience in the diagnosis and management of skin conditions as well several contributions to the academic field through her publications and presentation of her work internationally.

Dr Haider is a substantive Dermatology Consultant at Chelsea and Westminster Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

Dr Zahra Haider is an empathetic, understanding, and supportive Consultant Dermatologist. She endeavours to place her patient at the centre of the consultation and takes a holistic approach to treatment. Dr Haider is particularly passionate about patient advocacy and has published work to help empower patients to understand their condition and be actively involved in the treatment they receive. She has also contributed to educational content for patients for managing skin conditions.

Conditions and Treatments

Dr Zahra Haider has experience in managing general dermatological concerns, both clinically and surgically; including acne, eczema, psoriasis, rosacea, hidradenitis supprativa, urticaria (hives), skin cancer, mole checks, and autoimmune blistering conditions. She can perform a range of dermatological surgical procedures, including cryotherapy, curettage, punch biopsies, and diagnostic excisions to remove both cancerous and benign lesions. She also performs steroid injections for hair loss and keloid scars.

Memberships

Dr Zahra Haider is registered with the GMC and on the specialist register for Dermatology. She is a member of the Royal College of Physicians, the British Association of Dermatologists, St John’s Dermatology society, and The Royal Society of Medicine. She is also a member of the BAD sub specialities group and is a member of the British Medical Dermatological Society as well as the Dowling Club.

Dr Haider is a BUPA Platinum Consultant.

Education and Training

Dr Zahra Haider holds a MBBS from University College London, where she also completed a BSc in International Health and Development. After completing her general medical training in London, she started her Dermatology career in the St John’s Institute of Dermatology, Guys and St Thomas’ Hospital and finished her specialist Dermatology training in the West Midlands. Her NHS consultant experience is from Kings College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

Dr Haider is a substantive Dermatology Consultant at Chelsea and Westminster Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

Dr Zahra Haider has presented her work at the regional, national, and international level. She has published articles on eczema and tele-dermatology in peer reviewed journals, including The British Journal of Dermatology and Clinical and Experimental Dermatology. Outside of the speciality, she is passionate about medical education and has completed a Postgraduate certificate in Clinical Research, Education and Leadership from the University of Cambridge. She has a passion for training young Dermatologists and has been educational lead for her NHS Dermatology department. Dr Haider is also involved in research and has actively contributed to international and national research groups. She has also been a co-investigator in medical trials for cutting edge treatments in Dermatology. She has also been a peer reviewer for the Dermatology Journal Clinical and Experimental Dermatology.
